Megha ShobhanaKumar, born and raised in Pathanamthitta, Kerala, has overcome numerous challenges to carve out a remarkable path for herself. From a young age, Megha showed a natural talent for drawing, inherited from her late father, who was a drawing teacher. Despite facing adversity, she pursued her passion for art and eventually ventured into other fields, including modeling, acting, and becoming a financial advisor. Her story serves as an inspiration for self-motivation and fearlessly pursuing one’s dreams.
Early Life and Passion for Art
Megha’s journey began with the loss of her father when she was just two months old. Raised by a strong and supportive mother, who is a senior superintendent in the Kerala State Electrical Board (KSEB) and a former national hockey team player, Megha inherited determination and resilience. Alongside her mother’s guidance, she developed a deep love for pencil drawing. Throughout her school and college days, Megha actively participated in various art competitions, honing her skills and showcasing her talent.
Education and Decision to Explore New Horizons
After completing her BSc in Physics, Megha’s mother wished for her to settle in Kerala. However, fueled by a desire to explore new opportunities, Megha made the bold decision to pursue higher studies in Canada. In 2021, she enrolled in an energy-related course at Centennial College in Scarborough, Canada.
Challenges and Growth
Megha initially faced the challenges of adjusting to a new country and finding like-minded people. However, she gradually connected with individuals who shared her interests and passions. Working part-time at Walmart and as a VJ at Aaha Radio, she discovered her love for social media and started her own Instagram page, providing entertainment to her growing audience. Her dedication and talent quickly garnered a following of 20k followers.
Overcoming Bullying and Embracing Self-Confidence
In her childhood, Megha faced bullying due to societal standards of physical appearance and her curly hair. These experiences greatly affected her self-confidence. However, through perseverance and inner strength, she overcame those obstacles and blossomed into a smart, confident young woman. Her journey of self-acceptance became a driving force in her success in the world of modeling.
Expanding Horizons and Pursuing Dreams
Amidst her social media success, Megha ventured into the world of modeling, collaborating with well-known photographers in Canada. After completing her studies, she moved to Victoria, British Columbia, where she secured her first job as a financial advisor at CIBC Bank. Megha’s dedication, talent, and relentless pursuit of her dreams have opened doors for her in multiple creative fields.
